There is a type of people, who do not know what to start from after getting an account for their site and cannot install WordPress and Coppermine. But do not worry, if you are running a fan site for the first time, I will help you start it.

1. First of all, you need to log in to CPanel for your site account. And then you need to scroll down to the section “Software” and click to “Softaculous Apps Installer“.
2. Let’s see how it all happens when you install WordPress. Well, you see the list on the left sidebar. There are many packs that can be installed. But we need only one at the moment. So, you need to click on “Blogs” > “WordPress
3. You will see the screen with description of WordPress pack. So, you can read all of that if you want to find more about this installation. And when you do, then click on the button “Install Now
4. So, you see some settings you can change before you install WordPress. Let’s find out what they mean:
Choose Protocol: if your hosting lets, you can choose either http:// or https:// protocol. You can leave everything without changes, but if you want to change it, nothing bad will happen.
Choose Domain: if your site has a few domains (a primary one and a few parked ones), you can choose, which everybody will use to reach your WordPress blog. If you have only one domain, nothing should be changed.
In Directory: I think you understand what that means. Here, you can choose the folder, in which your WordPress blog would be installed.
Site Name: give your future WordPress blog some name
Site Description: give your future WordPress blog some description
Enable Multisite (WPMU): just a function that lets you make your WordPress site multiple and add a few ones. I will tell you more about this feature if you contact me. You do not need to pick it up – so, just ignore it.
5. There are some other options that you can change:
Admin Username: type a username for logging in to your WordPress account and post news
Admin Password: type a password for logging in to your WordPress account and post news
Admin EMail: type your email, on which you will be getting some emails about your WordPress blog (updates, plugin, comments, etc)
Select Language: if your site is going to be in some different lanaguage (English is default), just change it
6. We finally scrolled down to the button “Install” that you can click right now to finish the installtion of WordPress. Only a few moments to go before you can finally start using WordPress and opening your site.
7. Wait for some time until the bar reaches 100%. Installing usually finishes for a few seconds – so, you do not have to wait for a long time. The most important thing is not to leave the page until the installation is finished.
8. Yes, your WordPress theme is finally installed, and you can now use it. Log in to WordPress admin panel of your site and start filling it with some content. Enjoy it 🙂
Notice: Installing Coppermine happens in the same way – just choose “Image Galleries” > “Coppermine” and follow the instructions on the screen.
